The caseback also tells a story
The caseback is engraved with a laurel wreath surrounding a classic racing steering wheel—two enduring symbols of motorsport's golden age.
For centuries, the laurel wreath has represented victory and achievement, a tradition that found its way from the ancient Olympic Games to the podiums of international motorsport. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, it became synonymous with the triumphs of Formula One and endurance racing, adorning the champions of the era that inspired this collection.
A quiet tribute to those who raced, and those who won.
C3 Superluminova
Featuring C3 Superluminova on the hands and on the dial ensures that time readability is kept also during the darker hours of the day.
The split beads of rice and the clasp holding it
Few bracelets are as closely associated with vintage sports watches as the classic Beads of Rice. First introduced in the mid-20th century, it became a defining feature of many of the era's most celebrated racing chronographs.
For this collection, we drew inspiration from the distinctive split Beads of Rice bracelets found on vintage Heuer chronographs. Their intricate construction, remarkable flexibility and effortless drape made them favourites among enthusiasts then—and they remain so today.
Comfortable enough for everyday wear, yet refined enough for more formal occasions, it is a bracelet that feels every bit as timeless as the watches that inspired it.
While many vintage bracelets relied on folded steel clasps, ours takes a different approach.
The clasp retains the understated appearance of those classic designs but is precision-machined from solid stainless steel, combining vintage aesthetics with the reassuring feel and durability of modern construction.
Sometimes the best improvements are the ones you hardly notice.
A buckle that does not hide
Vintage racing watches were defined not only by their dials and cases, but also by the details that accompanied them. Distinctive signed buckles became part of their identity, proudly displaying the marque they represented.
Our buckle draws inspiration from those originals, featuring Monchard's reimagined emblem in a design that feels both familiar and unmistakably our own. Precision-machined from stainless steel, it serves as a small but meaningful reminder that thoughtful design extends to every part of the watch.
Box domed for the right look and feel
One of the defining characteristics of many vintage chronographs was the warmth and depth created by their high-domed acrylic crystals. We wanted to preserve that experience while embracing the advantages of modern materials.
Our solution is a box-domed sapphire crystal. Its distinctive profile recreates the subtle edge distortions and visual depth of acrylic, while providing the exceptional hardness and scratch resistance for which sapphire is renowned.
The elevated dome also serves a practical purpose. By allowing the hands to occupy part of the crystal's internal volume, the movement can sit lower within the case, helping to achieve the slim proportions that define the collection.
It is a small detail, perhaps—but one that influences the appearance, comfort and character of the watch every time it is worn.
