Setting the Date
Setting the date:
1. Pull the crown to the first position (the first tiny "click").
2. Turn the crown clockwise (turning from you) to set the correct date. Turning the other direction does nothing.
Note! Do not set the date if the watch is set between the hours of 21:00 to 03:00 (9PM to 3AM) as the date change gears are partially engaged during this time and setting the date here could damage or de-sync the gears.
Setting the time
Setting the time:
1. Pull the crown to the second (outmost) position.
2. Turn the crown clockwise (turning from you) to advance the time. Turning counter clockwise (towards you) to retreat the time.
3. Keep an eye on the 24h indicator (subdial at 3 o-clock) and make sure it corresponds to the time of day.
4. When you are happy with the setting, push the crown in all the way to it's normal position.
Using the chronograph
Start/stop: press the pusher at 2 o-clock. This will start the central seconds hand.
Reset: press the pusher at 4 o-clock to reset the chronograph and have the hands return to the "0-position".
Nautical Tachymeter
The nautical tachymeter works on the same principle as a conventional tachymeter, but is calibrated to measure speed in knots.
One knot equals one nautical mile per hour. Rather than travelling an entire nautical mile, the scale is designed to calculate speed over one tenth of a nautical mile — 185.2 metres.
Start the chronograph at the beginning of the measured distance and stop it after travelling the full 185 metres. The chronograph seconds hand will then indicate your average speed in knots directly on the nautical scale.
For example, covering the distance in 30 seconds corresponds to an average speed of 12 knots.
A traditional chronograph function, adapted for the fast paced adrenaline life of regatta racing.
